Letter drop

You may be aware that we are in the process of doing a letter drop in order to try to boost the swimming pool funds. Due to the boiler damage from last winter, our opening was delayed and so our swimming season was significantly reduced. This had a knock on effect on our takings. If you could show your support for this very special community resource, by giving a donation however large or small, we would be most grateful.
So look out for the enveloppe coming through your letterbox very soon. We will come and collect the enveloppes before the 1st October. If you are likely to be away, please ring the pool number and we can arrange for you to hand it in to one of the pool comittee members.
If you haven't received an enveloppe but want to donate, please contact us but we are also planning to have spare enveloppes in local shops....confirmation of where to follow!
Every donation is greatly valued.

The season has ended and the pool is now closed.
Thank you to all volunteers who helped with the various aspects of running the pool, we wouldn't be there without you.

Planning ahead

We still have a few weeks, but the pool's season end is creeping up on us! :(

Our Final Day will be Sunday 4th September

There will be a Car Boot Sale from 11am onwards
(£5/pitch, bring your own table 10am set up, ring pool to book)

The Water walkers will be entertaining many from 12pm-4pm
(See details in previous posts)

A BBQ will be available throughout the day for those overcome by hunger!

The finale will be a Fun Swim Session for all
from 4.30pm onwards
(normal session prices apply)

The 2011 season has officially started.
An enthusiastic bunch of swimmers had faith in the weather today, and jumped in the pool for an afternoon of fun.

1pm - 4pm weekends*

Adult only sessions:
Mondays 7:50 pm- 8:30 pm (ladies only)
Wednesday 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

School Holidays:
1 pm - 4 pm & 6 pm - 8 pm weekdays*
1 pm - 4 pm weekends*

*The whistle is blown 15mn prior to the advertised closing to allow time.

A great venue for a party, be it a BBQ with friends or a children's birthday !

The pool is available for hire as a venue for those wishing a private party.
The cost is £45 for the first hour and £40 for subsequent hours.
You WILL require a certified lifeguard, you may either provide your own (we will need to see proof of current qualification) or book one of ours at the rate of £7/hr.

If you wish to book a series of 5 or more sessions, there is a further reduction of £5/hr

About Billinghay Pool...

39 years ago, the villagers of Billinghay got together and built themselves a swimming pool.
Today, volunteer-run, it is a popular leisure facility serving a wide area. It is an outdoor, heated, secluded pool, a full 25mx10m, with a maximum depth of 2m.
For the kids (mainly!) there are two slides, and we also have a toddler pool for use by our smallest visitors. The toddler pool uses the same water as the big pool, so it is also warm.
Our staffed reception provides security for your possessions while you swim- or just laze around in the sun, whichever takes your fancy.
So.....
Next time you feel the need to relax, why not give us a thought; after all, it's you we are here for.

Where are we?

Billinghay village is situated on the A153, 9 miles East of Sleaford and 5 miles West of Tattershall and Conningsby. It is also on the B1189 from Metheringham.
The pool is located on Fen road, right at the heart of the village, next to the two schools (marked on the map below). It is signposted off the A153.If you are approaching from the North, Fen road is on the left about ½mile into the village.

Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, cold drinks, sweets, chocolate, crisps and ice creams are always on sale...
If you want to bring your own sandwiches, please feel free to do so and sit around the poolside and watch the children young and old have fun. There are plenty of tables chairs, sunbeds and parasols.

Cost of oil

Unfortunately , due to the high rise in oil costs, the pool cannot afford to take the covers off the pool if the weather is cold or it is raining.
Please check first to confirm the pool is open on grey chilly days!

PLEASE NOTE that the consumption of alcohol is not permitted at the pool.

A Big Thank You to the pool committee members without whom we wouldn't have our local community pool, all the lifeguards for their tireless commitment to the pool and to all the volunteer helpers who manned the reception throughout the season.

PS there is a strict no photo policy at the pool however for a special occasion such as a last day photo, together with parental permission from parents of children photographed, a special dispensation was given.
